What a wonderful book for children. Since I'm a long time reader of Robin Hanson's overcomingbias.com blog I'm familiar enough with his oeuvre to avoid getting bogged down with terms like ems, near/far mode, farmers/forager lifestyles, status signaling, coalition politics, etc. They rescue a slave boy whose family has been murdered and two essentially abandoned siblings as they enter the most dangerous town in the territory. Keep a copy on your desk - you won't regret it :-). Now, I am waiting on part two. Five stars out of five.
