What's interesting about this is it puts you in Lewis' own milieu, interacting with the authors and ideas, through books, of his day. He uses a fictional tour guide who travels like a ghost through time and over extensive geography to help us envision the numerous archaeological sites as they looked and felt when they were occupied by our Stone Age ancestors. Somebody--presumably the editing, writing, and artistic design teams--have put together a MAGNIFICENT PRODUCT! So, here's what we have: Quality product + Excellent story + Great artwork -- What more could I want?
I am not exaggerating--this book really is that good. The story proves touching and tragic, and makes Gen more sympathetic in the reader's eyes.
