Before You Were Born is a beautiful retelling of a story from Jewish folk tradition. Even the language fit the bill. Still, you might consider handing them Mordecai Gerstein's, "The Mountains of Tibet", before you purchase a copy of "Before You Were Born". He would have been much wiser to recognize these very serious concerns.
And that is my major complaint about this book. A real analysis of the future tends towards a dry, somewhat jargony, heavily footnoted tome. The book is better than i expected. Hand them a copy of "Rainbow Fish" and watch them eschew the pedantic story for the bright and sparkly pictures. Her whole family is a screwed up mess, and there doesn't seem to be a light at the end of that tunnel. I followed the examples and the exercise given. Therese further, I would highly recommend this awe-inspiring text.
